The Model 316 is used by heat treaters, engineers, quality control inspectors and shop personnel to test the hardness of metals in such industrial equipment as dies and punches, gears, cutting teeth, welds, hardened way, bars, rods, nuts, bolts, rivets, etc... The 60x microscope features a direct reading reticle. The illumination system features a Maglite® flashlight. The fiber optic light pipe directs the light to the focus of the microscope. The calibrated test block can be furnished with certification to NIST Traceable Standards.
